Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 3-4 cloves garlic
  • 4 15 1/2 oz cans of tomato sauce
  • 2 10 oz cans of tomato paste
  • 10 oz water (fill up 15 oz can about 3/4 way)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp oregano
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil or 1 tbsp of dried basil
  • 2 tsp sugar

Instructions

  • In a large pot, add 1/2 tbsp of olive oil
  • On medium heat, cook the beef and onions together
  • Drain the beef and onions to remove any grease and return to the pot
  • Add garlic
  • Add your tomato sauce and tomato paste
  • Add 10 oz (about 3/4 full in the 15 oz can) of water to your tomato sauce can/container and pour into each can of sauce and paste to get all of the remaining sauce and paste out of the cans. Add water to the pot.
  • Add your seasonings (salt, pepper, oregano, basil and sugar
  • Simmer for 2-4 hours on low
