Smooth and creamy strawberry banana smoothie with only five ingredients. This strawberry banana smoothie is great for a quick and easy breakfast.
Morning is usually hectic around here. It seems that no matter what time we wake up, we are always struggling to get out of the door. I love this strawberry banana smoothie because it is quick, easy and healthy! This also a great way to sneak fruits and even veggies into your kid’s breakfast. Add a handful of frozen spinach and they will never know. Sometimes this trick even works for myself. I’m not the biggest fan of veggies, hence the baking blog. This strawberry banana smoothie also has plain greek yogurt which has protein to keep you full longer without the added sugar.
HOW TO MAKE THE STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE
Making this strawberry banana smoothie couldn’t be easier. And, it only takes 5 ingredients! Simply throw everything into the blender and mix until it is smooth. If you like more of a thicker consistency, you can add a few ice cubes to the blender. My husband prefers to eat his with a spoon, so I always add a few ice cubes to his smoothie. The frozen strawberries and bananas make it smooth and the yogurt makes it extra creamy.
GOT RIPE BANANAS?
If you have ripe bananas, don’t throw them away! Chop them up and freeze them for smoothies in the morning. To save even more time, you can measure out the strawberries and make “smoothie packs” in the freezer so you just have to add the milk, yogurt and honey.
SWEETENERS
The honey is optional, but I like using a natural sweetener. The strawberry banana smoothie is already sweet so that’s why it is optional. When you add things like kale to smoothies, the honey can help cut some of the bitterness. It’s even better when you can find raw honey. There are a lot of good benefits to raw honey, plus it is yummy.
MILK
I used 2% milk for the strawberry banana smoothie because that is what I had on hand. However, you can really use any milk that you like. Need a non-diary option? Try coconut milk. I have found coconut milk is the most like “regular” milk. If you want to try out some non-diary options, my recommendation is to start with coconut milk. You can also use the same amount of water in the strawberry banana smoothie, but I find it isn’t as creamy.
A FEW TIPS BEFORE YOU START
- Frozen Fruit – Make sure your fruit is frozen. You can use non-frozen fruit, but it doesn’t come out as good.
- Greek Yogurt – Make sure you use a greek yogurt or something similar in thickness.
- Consistency – If you want a thicker consistency, add a few ice cubes. If you want a thinner consistency, add more milk.
- Blender – Make sure you have a strong blender that can mix everything well.
SUPPLIES
This recipe does not require a ton of supplies, but I love this blender. I got this Ninja blender for my birthday and can easily make great smoothies, sauces, pesto, etc.

Love this and so yummy. I love my Ninja as I’ve found making smoothies over the years one must have a 1,000 watt motor or higher and Ninja has them.

Yes I think a high-powered blender makes all the difference!

I really like cashew milk, too. The consistency is between almond and coconut, just right.

I’ll have to try cashew milk. I do love some cashews!
